Collaborating with the Rockpool team on my second art collection commission for Rockpool Carseldine on Brisbane’s north, was enthralling as we embraced a larger format to the paintings which differed from the eclectic mix of sizes in their first home at Morayfiled.

Proudly positioned along the ground level’s foyer hallway wall, the bold compositions pay homage to picturesque landscapes from around Queensland including a tropical rainforest in the north, the signature red earth of the outback to the west, down to the serene arial depictions of some of the state’s best beachscapes.

Working together with Rockpool’s dedicated interior design team, I allocated an individual colour palette to each painting which aligned with each level’s interior scheme. In addition to marrying the painting colour compositions with the furnishings, we made an striking move to digitise each of the artworks and make them into luxurious linen wallpapers for the entrances of each level plus create matching splash-backs using the artworks for the communities’ communal dining areas.

This collaborative approach, a client-designer-artist relationship, enabled us to create a seamless design for Rockpool Carseldine’s whole interiors project, and one which is impactful, imbues a beautiful aesthetic, and has been well received by staff, residents and visitors alike.
