As one of South East Queensland’s fastest-growing aged care groups, Rockpool Residential Aged Care commissioned bespoke art collections across their Morayfield, Carseldine, and Pelican Waters sites, with more collections underway for future developments.

Consisting of five original paintings for each facility that hang proudly in their ground level foyers, some of the artworks have been digitised and made into luxurious linen wallpapers that adorn the entry walls of each of their facilities’ communities on the levels above. This use of the commissioned paintings makes a huge impact in the overall aesthetic of the Carseldine and Pelican Waters sites, enhancing their interior scheme.

The inclusion of art in the Rockpool sites has served as more than just an enhancement to the visual environment, it has become a powerful tool to tap into a residents’ wholistic wellbeing. On a deeper level, the art has evoked that feeling of connection, provided a sense of place, brought joy and tapped into residents’ memories and emotions. In fact, it has become a beautiful platform for residents to reflect on their past sparking conversations and sharing their stories, igniting their cognitive function and uplifting their spirit.

Working with the Rockpool executive team and their dedicated interior design firm, we choose the preferred subject for each painting collection, such as renowned regions, rock pools and coastal landscapes from around Queensland, and align the paintings with the interiors schemes and the facilities’ locations. Looking at each commissioned piece, we also ensure we understand the emotion we want to create and align the subject and composition to Rockpool’s collective meaning of ‘safe, secure, inclusive, contemplative, reflective and vibrant with life and habitat’.
